Q: 1. How long is the CNA program?

Our CNA program can be completed in as little as 4 weeks for the day program or 5 weeks for the evening program, depending on the schedule you choose.

Q: 2. Do I need healthcare experience to enroll?

No prior healthcare experience is required. Our program is designed for beginners who want to start a career in healthcare.

Q: 3. Is the CNA program online or in person?

The program uses a hybrid format that includes: Online coursework In-person skills training In-person clinical training This structure gives students flexibility while still providing hands-on experience.

Q: 4. How much does the CNA program cost?

The CNA program tuition is $1,515, plus the Georgia State CNA exam fee of $130. Additional costs may include CPR certification, scrubs, physical exam requirements, and supplies. Payment plans may be available for qualified students.

Q: 5. Does the program include hands-on clinical training?

Yes. Students complete in-person clinical training in a real healthcare setting to gain practical experience working with patients before graduation.

Q: 6. What certification will I receive after completing the program?

After successfully completing the program, students are eligible to take the Georgia State CNA Certification Exam. Once passed, you may become listed on the Georgia CNA Registry.

Program Overview

Our Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program is designed to prepare you for both the Georgia State Certification Exam and real-world healthcare work. You'll gain hands-on patient care skills, real clinical experience, and the confidence to work in healthcare settings immediately after certification.

No prior healthcare experience is required-just a willingness to learn and help others.

What Is a CNA?

A CNA is a health care worker who provides basic nursing services under the supervision of a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or a Registered Nurse (RN). They typically provide care to the elderly and disabled clients/patients. CNAs can work in Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Community Center Hospices, Schools, Outpatient Facilities or patient and client’s homes.

What Does a CNA Do?

CNAs help their clients and patients by measuring their vital signs, helping with daily hygiene tasks, feedings and assisting them with walking and conducting minor exercise.

IHCA’s CNA Training Program

IHCA’s CNA training is an 88-hour, 6-week program that encompasses the fundamental theories and skills underlying the nursing profession. It prepares students to sit for the Georgia certification exam for nurse aides. Training is divided into two parts: academic instruction, the theoretical background of nursing, which consists of classroom and lab time, and practical training, where students hone the skills required to be an effective CNA.

When Are Classes Held?

We offer In-Person and Hybrid (Online & In-Person) classes that take place during the day, in the evening and over the weekend. Please see below for detailed description.

Daytime Classes

In-Person -- Daytime classes are 6 weeks long and are held 3 days a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 AM to 2:15 PM. In the last two weeks for three (3) days during clinicals, the hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
Hybrid (Online & In-Person) -- Daytime Hybrid classes are 4 weeks long and held during the work week, Monday through Friday. During the first two weeks the time is not scheduled. Students are to pace themselves through the curriculum and complete all exams by the end of the 2nd week. Weeks 3 and 4 will be In-Person. During the 10 days in the 3rd & 4th weeks, students will be practicing skills for seven (7) days from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and attend clinicals for three (3) days from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Evening Classes

In-Person Evening Classes -- Evening classes are 8 weeks long and held 4 days a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 PM to 9:15 PM. In the last two weeks for six (6) days during clinicals, the hours are from 5:00 PM to 9:30 PM.
Hybrid (Online & In-Person) Evening Classes -- Evening Hybrid classes are 5 weeks long and held during the work week, Monday through Friday. During the first two weeks the time is not scheduled. Students are to pace themselves through the curriculum and complete all exams by the end of the 2nd week. Weeks 3 thru 5 will be In-Person. During the 15 days in the 3rd, 4th and 5th weeks, students will be practicing skills for nine (9) days and attend clinicals for six (6) days from 5:00 PM to 9:30 PM.

Weekend Classes

Hybrid (Online & In-Person) Weekend Classes -- Weekend Hybrid classes are just over 5 weeks long, specifically 5 weeks and 2 days. In-Person classes will only be held on Saturday and Sunday, starting the second week. The first two weeks the time is not scheduled outside of the 2nd weekend - students are to pace themselves through the curriculum and complete all exams by the end of the 2nd week. Class will meet in person for the next 4 weekends. Clinicals will take place during the 2nd and 3rd weekends. The In-Person classes (7) will meet from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, except for clinicals for (3) days which begin at 7:00 AM and end at 3:30 PM.
