Choose the Testing Pathway That Applies to You

IHCA supports two different CNA testing pathways. The correct option depends on how your exam is being scheduled and which testing organization is handling your evaluation.

  • CNA Skills Evaluation
  • CNA Written Examination when scheduled at the test center
  • Open to eligible candidates from other approved programs
  • Registration, payment and final scheduling are completed through Credentia

Not Sure Which One You Need?

Which Testing Option Applies to Me?

Use Credentia Regional Testing if:

Your exam is being scheduled through Credentia/CNA365 and you need a location for your written examination, skills evaluation, or both.

Use UGA Virtual Skills Testing if:

Your training program or testing coordinator has directed you to complete the UGA Virtual Skills Evaluation.

If you are unsure which testing pathway applies to you, contact your training program or testing coordinator before scheduling.

Additional Skills Practice

Need More Practice Before Your CNA Skills Exam?

If you completed your CNA training at another approved program and need additional practice before re-testing, IHCA offers guided skills remediation based on the number of CNA skills that need review.

All remediation is instructor-supported so candidates receive feedback on whether skills are being performed correctly. IHCA does not offer unsupervised self-guided lab practice.

Option 1:

Join a Current Skills Session

Candidates may join an existing IHCA CNA skills session while current students are practicing in the lab. This option provides guided practice and instructor feedback in a group setting.

  • Lower-cost remediation option

  • Practice alongside an existing CNA class

  • Instructor guidance and correction during the session

  • Availability depends on the current CNA skills schedule

Option 2:

1-on-1 Skills Remediation

Candidates who need dedicated attention may schedule a private remediation session with an IHCA instructor. The session focuses on the specific skills identified for review.

  • Dedicated private instructor session

  • Focused review of failed or uncertain skills

  • Instructor feedback on technique and testing readiness

  • Scheduled separately from regular CNA skills sessions

State Exam Results or Skills Assessment

Already Took the State Exam?

Submit Your State Assessment Results

If you have already taken the CNA state skills exam, you do not need a separate IHCA Skills Assessment when your failed skills are documented on your state assessment.

  • Upload your first state assessment with the application.

  • If you have tested twice, also upload your second state assessment.

  • IHCA will use the failed-skill results to guide your remediation plan.

Not Sure What You Need?

Complete a Skills Assessment

If you have not taken the state skills exam, or you are unsure which skills you perform correctly, start with an IHCA Skills Assessment.

Skills Assessment: $95
Flat assessment fee.

The assessment identifies which skills need remediation before testing or re-testing.

Skills Remediation Pricing

Choose the Level of Review You Need

Tier 1 1–6 skills 4 hrs / 2 days $125 $165
Tier 2 7–12 skills 8 hrs / 2–3 days $250 $330
Tier 3 13–22 skills 16 hrs $500 $660

Application workflow: Candidates who have already taken the state exam should upload their state assessment result(s) with the remediation application. Candidates who have not tested or are unsure which skills need work should complete the $95 Skills Assessment first.
